More Than 4,000 Have Signed Up For No Impact Week -- Share Your Experience

HuffPost

Hi Everyone,

Good news! Yesterday, we surpassed 4,000 sign-ups for No Impact Week.  We believe there are still many people participating who have not yet signed up. If you know one, please suggest that they quickly sign up here.  It will allow us both to keep them updated and to get an accurate count of the number of participants.

Today is Transportation Day, which means it's time to grab your bike or start carpooling -- and to document your travels.

SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE

We have created a number of ways to share your story on the Huffington Post, with more to come each day. Check out the Green page for the latest.

  • Participants from Louisiana to Japan have shared their motivation for joining No Impact Week. Check out their video blogs.

  • Transportation Tuesday: Whether you're biking to work, carpooling in a bio-diesel vehicle, trying out public transportation or just walking -- we want to see it.  We'll feature your photos and video on HuffPost tomorrow.

  • Consumerism Gone Wild: Share a purchase you could have gone without or an impulse buy you never opened. (Deadline is Tuesday at midnight)

  • Your Trash, My Trash, Our Trash: This one has two parts: 1) For the citizen journalists out there, find out where your trash goes.  This might mean a visit to your local landfill or waste processing center.  2) Empty out the trash you've created this week and see if any of it surprises you.

WEBCAST

Tonight, Colin Beavan will be hosting a webcast with Rich Kassel, the Natural Resource Defense Coucil's Attorney and Director for the Clean Fuels and Vehicles Project.  The webcast will go live here at 9pm EST.  You don't need a webcam to watch or to ask questions, but if you have one you'll be able to join the live video chat when to ask a question, thanks to some great technology by Vokle.

If you have any questions about the week, check out the community NING or shoot us an email at experiment@noimpactproject.org.

Have fun,
